Horse Racing – Handicap races.
16 or more runners, one quarter the odds 1-2-3-4
12 to 15 runners, one quarter the odds 1-2-3
8 to 11 runners, one fifth the odds 1-2-3
5 to 7 runners, one quarter the odds 1-2
4 runners or less, all up to win (place money goes onto win).

Non – Handicap races
8 or more runners, one fifth the odds 1-2-3
5 to 7 runners, one quarter the odds 1-2
4 runners or less, all up to win (place money goes on to win).

(a) For the purpose of calculations, Each Way doubles, Trebles, etc., are settled as two distinct bets, i.e. Win to Win and Place to Place. UNLESS it is specifically requested in the instructions 'Each Way all Each Way". This particular bet may be offered by the company on their systems from time to time at their discretion.

7. Dead Heats.
In the event of a Dead Heat the stake money on a selection will be divided by the number or runners involved in the Dead Heat and the full odds will be paid to the dividend stake with the remainder of the stake money being lost.

8. Late Withdrawals.
Where a horse is withdrawn before coming under Starters Orders, wagers will be settled in accordance with Tattersalls Rule 4(c).

See Table of deductions below:

Therefore, if current odds of the horse withdrawn are: Rates (in the £)
3/10 or longer odds on by 75p
2/5 to 1/3 70p
8/15 to 4/9 65p
8/13 to 4/7 60p
4/5 to 4/6 55p
20/21 to 5/6 50p
Evens to 6/5 45p
5/4 to 6/4 40p
13/8 to 7/4 35p
15/8 to 9/4 30p
5/2 to 3/1 25p
10/3 to 4/1 20p

Should a horse be withdrawn and there is time for the market to be reformed then any bets laid at 'Show' prices off the 'Board' for previous 'Shows' prices will be subject to the above deductions.

9. Favourites and numbered selections (Horse Racing)
(a) The Favourite is the one which is returned at the shortest rate of odds. Where two are returned at the same shortest rate of odds, these two are Joint Favourites and Joint Second Favourites and the next shortest price is the Third Favourite. Where a customer backs the First, Second or Third Favourite and two or more are at the same price then the stake is divided equally over the Joint or Co-Favourites thus created.
(b) Bets for First and Second favourites are accepted WIN ONLY for singles, doubles, trebles and Accumulators at Starting Price. If taken in error the Place part of any such bet will be void.
(c) Where a Favourite commission is accepted and the meeting is not nominated, the bet will stand for the races timed, providing that these races do not clash with other races having the same advertised "Off" time. Where the time of such races clash the stakes will be divided equally on to those races having the same "Off" time whose results are being given 'race by race' over the official SIS commentary service.
Where a horse is withdrawn not under orders but is still returned Favourite, it will be treated as a non-runner.
Early prices or board prices cannot be taken on unnamed favourites.

10. Forecasts.
(a) Forecasts are accepted for races of three or more runners and will be settled as Straight Forecasts. In any race where no Computerised Starting Price Forecast is returned, Forecasts will be settled in accordance with the N.S.L.S.P. Straight Forecast chart. Should a Starting Price not be returned, the Forecasts for that race will be void. Should a non-runner be selected in a Forecast, that particular Forecast will be void. Where instructions are given as a Forecast the selections must finish 1st and 2nd in the order requested.
Should a non-runner be selected in a Straight Tricast - the remaining selections will be classed as a Straight Forecast. In Combination Tricasts any non-runners selected, will result in the bet being made void.
(b) We accept computer Forecast Doubles (B.A.G.S meetings only) and the returns will be calculated by multiplying the appropriate returns applicable to each Forecast selection. When a forecast Double includes a non-runner then the Double becomes a single Forecast. Forecast Accumulators are not accepted.

11. Conditional Bets - (Any to come).
(a) In Any To Come wagers it must be clearly stated from which selection(s) the Any-To-Come is to be taken. Cash in hand from one selection cannot go on to the same selection or any selection in the same race. Any To Come wagers will be executed in strict rotation until the stake plus any winnings are exhausted, subject to (c), should there be insufficient cash in hand to cover all selections the bet will be exhausted as far as the cash will allow in accordance to the instructions given, where an Each Way bet on a selection cannot be fully covered the Win part will be given preference.

(b) Staking instructions for the Any-To-Come bet must be clearly and explicitly stated, stipulating the level of stake to be re-invested. Where a specific staking level is not given the staking on the selection immediately preceding will be invested. Should the preceding bet be an accumulative one then the maximum individual unit stake of that bet will determine Any-To-Come.

(c) When Any-To-Come wagers go on to Win or Each Way Doubles, Trebles and Accumulators, only the amount in hand from the original instructions will be invested. The Win part will be settled first in its entirety and the Place portion last. Bearing in mind that the Win part of the bet takes complete precedence, where there is insufficient in hand to cover either the Win part or Place part in its entirety then the amount in hand will be apportioned to cover the part of the bet which will be affected.

(d) In an 'Up and Down' wager when both selections are entered in the same race, the bet will become a single on each selection and Any-To-Come part of the bet will be void. If, however, either of the selections are entered for another race it will be assumed that this is the race for which the wager on that selection was intended.
If Lose, If Win – Stop at a Winner.
For the purpose of settling, the words "If Lose" (i.e. the selection does not occupy first place), will be interpreted as "If Lose or non-runner", and "If Win" (i.e. the selection does occupy first place), will be read as "If Win or non-runner". Stop-at-a-Winner bets continue until one of the selections occupies first place. The selections will be settled in the order given on the slip. Winners that dead heat will be settled in accordance with Rule 7.

12. Double Engagements.
(a) For single commissions when the selection is Doubly Engaged and it is timed by the Customer, it will be considered a wager for the race timed only. Should that selection be untimed or incorrectly timed, then the wager is deemed to be for the first race in which the selection runs after the bet was placed.

(b) If two selections, one of which is Doubly Engaged, are included in a Double, Treble or Accumulator, but run in the same race, then the selection which is Doubly Engaged will be automatically timed for the race in which the entries do not clash. Single commissions will be treated as entirely separate bets in accordance with paragraph (a).

13. Walk-Overs and Void Races.
These count as races but any horse so involved will be treated as non-runners.

Re-Started races – Horses.
In the event of a re-started race, the original betting market prior to a false start, will govern the settling, unless a new market is formed.

14. Postponements.
If a day's programme is postponed then all bets will be declared void. If for any reason, races are put back, the settling of all bets will always be ruled by the time advertised in the Racing Post e.g. if the Customer requests the 2.00 race and that race is run at 2.30 the bet will stand for the 2.00 race as advertised.

15. Board Prices and Early Prices.
We accept bets for named selections and Trap Numbers at current Board Prices as transmitted by SIS. Where a Board Price is taken on selection, the Board Price will apply to that selection in all Win and Each Way bets throughout the bet, unless otherwise instructed by the Customer. Each Way bets at Board Prices are governed by our SP Place betting terms, determined by the number of runners coming under STARTERS ORDERS and not by the number of declared runners when the price was laid. Customers wishing to bet at Board Price must request the price when placing their bet. We do not lay 'BAR' prices, nor do we accept instructions such as 'First Show' for a Board Price prior to the transmission of a 'Show' of betting for the race - any such bets given in error will be settled at Starting Price. Should a wrong price be given in error by a terminal or a member of staff then the bet will be settled at the correct price at the time the bet was struck or at Starting Price, whichever is the greater. Should a horse be withdrawn whereby Tattersall's Rule 4 would apply, then no Board Price can be laid after the time of withdrawal, unless the 'Market is reformed'.

16. Ante – Post Betting is unavailable for the purposes of horserace betting. All other bets struck before the day the race are conditional upon the sport type and are governed by these rules.

17. Information and Rules for Racing Abroad.
Bets are accepted for all races abroad so long as the results are printed in either the Sporting Press/Racing Post.
Unless "Industry Prices" are requested on selections where we quote odds on races abroad, all bets taken will be settled at the Pari-Mutuel dividend. Win and Each Way for foreign pools: Horses in the same ownership are generally coupled on the win pool only. In certain countries, e.g. USA and Belgium, horses are coupled for all pools. The place part of each way bets will be settled in accordance to the returned place dividends.
It must be noted, in the USA, two place pools are in operation, namely the "place pool" for 1st and 2nd and the "show pool" for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Unless the "place pool" (1st, 2nd) is clearly specified, the place part of an each way bet in the USA will be settled on the "show pool" (1st, 2nd and 3rd) dividends.
Place only bets are not accepted and, if taken in error, the stake will be divided between win and place.
Should the instructions be for a Straight or Reversed Forecast and a Dual Forecast is returned, then the total stake will be applied to the Dual Forecast return.
Should the instruction be for a Dual Forecast and a Straight Forecast is returned, then the stake will be divided and settled as a Reversed Straight Forecast.

18. Price Rigging / Repeated Wagers.
Where there is evidence of Price Rigging we reserve the right to withhold payment of returns pending any subsequent investigation. Where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selection(s) having been placed by or for the same individual or syndicate of individuals we reserve the right to limit the maximum odds payable to 5 times the total stake.

19. Football. English Premier League Matches
Singles are accepted on English premiership matches, and other English live matches shown on television. All other matches - minimum trebles. Doubles are accepted in any bet involving a live match.
The maximum number of draws which can be accepted in any one accumulator is five, if more than five are taken, the stake will be apportioned to allow for the correct number of draws per accumulator.
If a match has started, but abandoned before 90 minutes play, that match will be deemed void. Only bets on the first player to score and time of the first goal will stand, so long as a goal has been scored at the time of abandonment.
Where prices are offered for a player to score at any time during a match, bets will stand for 90 minutes play and not include extra time when applicable. If for any reason a match is abandoned before 90 minutes play is completed, stakes will be returned, irrespective of whether the nominated player has scored or not.
All double-result bets will be void if the match is abandoned before full time.
Where a Midweek match date is changed, i.e. postponed, the selection will only be valid provided the match is played within that same week, up to and including Saturday. Postponed matches moved to another week will be void.
Should a Weekend match be postponed or re-arranged, bets will only stand if played on the following day.
Correct scores are accepted in singles, doubles, trebles and accumulators. Extra time does not count.
First Goalscorer - Extra time does not count. Players taking no part or coming on after the first goal has been scored. Stake returned
Last Goalscorer - Extra time does not count. A player who plays in any part of the official 90 minutes is deemed a "runner" for last goalscorer purposes. Stake returned on selections who take no part.

Cup Matches
Singles and upwards are accepted on all Cup matches.
Where odds for an outright win, as well as 90 minutes are on offer in Cup Finals etc., unless "to win outright" or a qualifying price has been laid, all bets are settled on 90 play.
Ante- Post.
In divisional betting, the finished position of teams at the end of the scheduled programme of matches will determine placings, with no allowance for play-offs or subsequent enquires by the respective leagues.

General (Football).
Any-to-come bets are not accepted and, if taken in error, the ATC part will be disregarded.
We reserve the right to refuse the whole or part of any bet and to make ambiguous bets void.
Bets will be accepted up to "actual kick-off time". However, such bets will stand if accepted up to 5 minutes after kick-off time, provided that no goals had been scored at the time the bet was placed. All bets will be void in the event of an "Own Goal" and all bets are valid for 90 minutes only. 21. Greyhound Racing.
General Rules.
All general rules apply to all greyhound bets except where they are superseded by the following specific rules and partial agreements to rules which are specifically applicable to Greyhound Racing.

Win and Each Way Betting.
Bets are accepted Win or Each-Way at the Starting Price or the Board Price only. Bets at Tote returns are not accepted and if taken in error will be settled at Starting Price. Place only bets are not accepted and if taken in error will be made void.

Greyhound Place Terms.
8 runners or more one-fifth the odds 1-2-3.
6 runners or more one quarter the odds 1-2.
4 runners or less, all up to Win (Place money goes on to Win).

Favourites and Trap Numbers.
(a) We accept bets for First Favourites WIN ONLY in Singles, Doubles, Trebles and Accumulators. Un-named Second or Third Favourites are not accepted for Greyhound Racing and when taken in error such bets will be made void.
(b) Bets for un-named selections which nominate a meeting (other than a B.A.G.S. meeting) due to take place on a different day will be void unless the future day or date is clearly stated. Instructions for 'Through the Card' or 1st, 3rd or last race, etc. will be considered as timing the races in programme order as published in The Racing Post.
All bets on un-named Greyhound selections must have the correct meeting and time stated (Rule 9 (c) dealing with Horserace Favourites does not apply) otherwise the bet or the selection part of the bet will be void. However, in instances where the meeting is omitted but the collective exact times requested make it perfectly clear that only one particular meeting could be intended, and then the bet will stand for that meeting.
(c) Where two meetings are held at the same track on the same day then the particular meeting for which the bet is intended must be clearly indicated. Where it is not clearly indicated then the bet will be deemed to be for the first meeting at which all the selections are still to run.
(d) Named selections will always take precedence over Trap Numbers where both are given to indicate one selection.
(e) B.A.G.S. MEETINGS.
The Rules in this section SUPERSEDE all other Rules and apply only to B.A.G.S. meetings which are fully covered by SIS service.
(1) The actual time given, e.g. 2.08, 2.17, etc. will govern bet settlements. In instances where the B.A.G.S. race TIME stated and the B.A.G.S. MEETING nominated do NOT CORRESPOND, the race time given will be given preference and the bet settled on the meeting corresponding to the race time given in the bet instruction.
(2) Any UNTIMED or INCORRECTLY TIMED single bet or single Forecast bet will be settled for the next B.A.G.S. race to go off.
In this instance where two B.A.G.S. meetings are taking place and a meeting is nominated then the bet will stand for the next race to go off at that meeting.
A bet is not considered incorrectly timed where the time given corresponds exactly with the time of a race already resolved - this is a late bet and will be made void.
(3) Where a Customer uses programme order or states 'Through the Card' to time Trap Number selections but does not nominate a meeting then if the bet is accepted in time for a B.A.G.S. meeting, the bet will be settled for that meeting.
Where two B.A.G.S. meetings are taking place on the same afternoon and the bet is accepted in time for both meetings, the stakes will be equally divided to cover each meeting individually.
(4) Bets for un-named selections which nominate a B.A.G.S. MEETING due to take place on a DIFFERENT DAY without such a day being specified will be settled on the B.A.G.S. meeting taking place on the day the bet was placed.
Where two B.A.G.S. meetings are scheduled to take place then the stake will be equally divided to cover each meeting individually. However, if the race times given correspond to only one meeting then the bet will stand for that one meeting.
(5) We accept Computer Forecast Doubles for all greyhound meetings contained within these rules.
Forecast Trebles are only accepted for B.A.G.S. meetings.
Re-Runs.
(a) Where a race has been declared void and is re-run all bets will stand for the greyhounds that take part in the re-run. The prices returned on the re-run will rule the settling. Board Prices laid on void races will not be valid for the re-run and such bets will be settled at the returned Starting Price. A re-run greyhound race is taken in the order in which it was originally placed in the programme and no notice is taken of the time it was re-run.
(b) Where a race has been declared void and is not re-run, ALL bets for that race will be made void and will not count for any additional race, e.g. a reserve race.
Bets for the Greyhound meetings that are not fully covered by the S.I.S. service will be subject to a maximum payout of £1,000 (one thousand Pounds).
22. Webber Leisure Machine Betting
(a) In the event of local or complete power failure or mechanical failure, any stakes retained by the Webber Leisure terminal that relate to an unregistered bet and for which a credit note receipt has not been printed will be refunded.
(b)Any bet that has registered on the shop manager system and for which a receipt has not been printed will stand.
(c)Customers should check with the shop staff in such circumstances whether the bet has registered, and may be asked to provide a written copy of the bet with the approximate time of placement to corroborate this.
